37 pupils in Sohag suffer food poisoning

Thirty-seven pupils of the Naga al-Damouky elementary school have fallen ill with food poisoning from tainted milk. They were taken to Sohag General Hospital for treatment.

Hospital director Gamal Qureishy sent samples from the laboratory to determine the cause of the poisoning.

Nadia Moussa, under secretary of the Ministry of Education, said she is forming a committee of the Department of Nutrition to investigate the incident.

This is the second time that pupils suffer food poisoning in Sohag in 24 hours, as 14 other pupils of the Abu Sedira Primary Institute suffered the same on Tuesday after eating biscuits in a school meal.
