Activist receives 10 year sentence in Kuwait over tweet on how to make molotovs

A Kuwaiti court sentenced an activist to 10 years in prison on Tuesday for tweeting about how to make molotovs, according to Turkish Anadolu news agency.

Lawyer Fawaz al-Gadaay, who was defending activist Saqr al-Hashash, said the verdict can be challenged at the court of appeals, the agency said.

The prosecution accused Hashash of inciting violence against security, destabilizing security and inciting unlicensed protests. Other charges were also laid against him.

Hashash was arrested on August 9 in Kuwait before a judge released him on September 2.

In January, Hashash was given a final verdict sentencing him to one year and eight months in jail over insulting the emir with his tweets

Hashash left Kuwait before the previous verdict was made.
