Alexandria straits remain closed over violent winds

Authorities at the Alexandria seaport decided to continue the closure of the Alexandria and Dekheila straits for a third day as weather conditions continue to worsen.

With wind speeds intensifying and sea waves escalating, Abdel Qader Darwish, the seaport’s director, told MENA that the two straits were closed to avoid collisions between ships and ferries or with the harbor.

Rain also continued in Alexandria, with traffic hindered by accumulating rainwater.
