Another 2 cases of violence against students recorded in Upper Egypt

A teacher at Nag Abd Rabo School at Balsfora village affiliated with Sohag Governorate's education department beat a pupil in the first preparatory grade using a water hose, causing bruises and abrasions on the boy's body.
 
The teacher was referred to a disciplinary board and transferred to an administrative position at Sohag Education Department until the end of interrogations, said Abdel Aziz Attia, undersecretary of the Education Ministry in Sohag.
 
Ramadan Abdel Hamid, undersecretary of the Education Ministry in Minya, dispatched a legal committee to investigate an assault on a primary schoolgirl by her teacher in Matay. The girl's father accused the teacher of beating his daughter causing her serious injuries because she talked to her mate during the lesson.
 
In Ismailia, 23 students were poisoned after eating sweets at school. They were transferred to hospital.
 
Three school students in Be'r al-Abd, North Sinai, were poisoned after eating spoiled food. They were transferred to hospital and a claim was filed about the incident.
 
Parents of students at Abdullah al-Nadeem Elementary School in Nasr City filed a complaint last Sunday against a teacher who forced her male students to put on headscarves as a punishment for losing a quiz to their female classmates.
 
Prosecutors also referred a teacher to criminal court last week over beating a fifth grade pupil leading to the child's death. The student passed away after days of battling injuries at hospital.
