The Asdaa Association for the hearing impaired in Alexandria won the First Lego League (FLL) qualifying tournament.

The association's team, Horse Power, will compete in the international FLL between April 22 and 25 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, the Communications and Information Technology Ministry said in a statement Tuesday.

The FLL was organized and hosted by Egypt’s Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), affiliated with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), according to the statement.

The TIEC provided playground and robot kits for competitors from 30 schools in 16 governorates and organized a training camp for 45 teachers from the 30 schools on robot innovation and technology.

Teams compete in April in the United States every year representing their country to find solutions in applied sciences where robots are designed, built and programed to complete tasks using LEGO Mindstorms, according to the statement.
