Beheira residents bread quotas decreased due to flour shortage

Many bakeries in Beheira have only been able to distribute 3 loaves of bread per day to each citizen, instead of 5, due to the shortage of flour in the governorate, which began 4 days ago.

The fourth consecutive day of the crisis has witnessed numerous skirmishes among citizens, who are obliged to line up in front of the bakeries since 5 am, in order to get their share of bread, for fear of failing to buy it throughout the day.

The bakery owners have complained of decreasing their share of flour by 25 percent. In response, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in Beheira, Mohamed Asr, said that the problem was temporary and would be resolved within a few days, adding that mill owners are to be held responsible for the shortage.
