Borhamy calls Endowments Minister for a public debate on Islamic Sharia

Yasser al-Borhamy, vice president of the Salafi Dawah, called on Endowments Minister Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa to participate in a public debate about issues like excommunication, violence and jihad jurisprudence.

He said on Al-Nour Party’s Facebook page on Wednesday that the sheikhs of the Salafi Dawah are scholars in jurisprudence and Islamic Sharia, and that their students have disseminated the moderate Islam nationwide.

“An unjustified campaign is waged by the Endowments Ministry against the Salafi Dawah,” he claimed, adding that the tests it conducts for preachers are not neutral. “They are blindly loyal to one particular opinion.”
