CAPMAS: 50% of female deaths blamed on circulatory diseases

The death rate among women reached 5.5 for every 1,000 women in 2013, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
 
In a press release issued on Wednesday to commemorate the International Day of Action for Women's Health, which is celebrated on May 28 of every year, CAPMAS included the leading causes of death for women. Fifty percent of the deaths were blamed on circulatory diseases, 8.4 percent were based on respiratory diseases and 6.6 percent were tumor-related. Breast cancer was the cause of 1.1 percent of deaths among women in 2013.
