Company breaches agreement with ministry, disburses 10-month bonus to workers

Administration of Asenpro – Asec Environmental Protection company reneged on its commitment to disburse delayed financial dues of workers, despite signing agreement over compromise between the company and Manpower Ministry.

Shaaban Khalifa, head of trade union of private sector workers, said the syndicate will continue to support the workers until all their financial dues are paid. He added that after the agreement was signed to pay for dues of 40-month end-of-service bonus, only 10-months in bonuses were disbursed.

The administration intentionally pressured the workers to disburse part of the dues and refused to pay for the rest, he told Al-Masry Al-Youm.

Khaled Abul Kheir, worker, said, “We have been working in the company for 20 years. There was an agreement to get a 40-month bonus at the end of the serve. We found that only 10 months were paid.”

He added that they consider filing a lawsuit against the company owner for insisting on violating workers’ rights, despite the company achieving high annual profits.

The ministry declared last week that the dues will be disbursed after the friendly compromise, however, the company breached the agreement.
