Court orders medical committee to determine Hisham Talaat’s plea for parole

The Administrative Court on Tuesday ordered the formation of a medical committee of seven doctors to examine businessman Hisham Talaat and decide on his plea for parole.

Talaat is sentenced to 15 years in prison for inciting the murder of Lebanese singer Suzanne Tamim.

He pleaded for parole on medical basis, contending that he suffers from a serious illness in his heart that endangers his life if he is kept in prison without proper treatment.

The court set 18 November for the committee to submit its report.
