Court rules to disband football association, Ahly club boards

The Supreme Administrative Court ruled on Sunday that the governing boards of the Egyptian Football Association and al-Ahly Club should be disbanded.

The SAC drew on a December 2015 ruling that disbanded al-Ahly Club’s board, chaired by Mahmoud Taher, over regulatory violations during polls in March 2014.

Taher has been temporarily running the club until the case is officially closed.

The supreme circle also overruled an earlier verdict which had enabled the EFA board to remain in office. It was ruled that the board chaired by Gamal Allam should be disbanded, following forgery accusations relating to the polls that ran in October 2012.
