Customs on European cars to be reduced gradually starting January 2015

The Egyptian government is currently studying a way to reduce customs on cars imported from European Union by 10 percent starting January 2015 within the Egyptian-European partnership, as of the first of Jan 2019 Egyptian customs on European cars will dropt to zero.
 
A source at the Ministry of International Cooperation revealed that the Europeans are threatening to impose duties on Egyptian goods on top of clothing and some agricultural crops, because Egypt has not abided by its promise to a gradual reduction of customs on European cars, in accordance with the partnership agreement between the two countries.
 
On his behalf, the Investment Minister said the Presidency will issue a law concerning the allocation of industrial land plots by direct order within the coming two weeks, pointing out that the ministry is ready to amend the laws governing the car production and car assembly in Egypt and convince the government to apply them.
