Doctors Syndicate warns of hosting African Nations Cup

The Doctors Syndicate sent on Sunday a letter to Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb and Health Minister Adel al-Adawy to warn of hosting the African Nations Cup, especially since Morocco, Sudan and South Africa have declined it, due to fears of the Ebola virus that has spread in a number of African countries.

The letter said that no treatment or vaccination was yet discovered to fight the Ebola virus that has so far killed 60 percent of its patients. It also explained that its incubation period is up to three weeks, which means there is no way to make sure players in the tournament are not infected.

The letter demanded a clear official statement that reassures the Egyptian people that the tournament would not be held.
