Egypt establishes 1st mineral sands plant

The Kafr al-Sheikh governorate has signed a protocol with Egypt’s military and other state agencies for the establishment of the first company for the processing of mineral sands.
 
Governor Ossama Hamdy said other partners in the company include the Egyptian Atomic Energy Agency and some Egyptian banks.
 
Hamdy explained that mineral sands, of which Egypt maintains a reserve of 238 million tons, contain 41 elements used for several industries, including rockets and nuclear reactors.
