Egyptian ‘mistakenly’ killed in Benghazi clashes

An Egyptian citizen was killed in Libya after being mistakenly shot as he was passing through a hot spot in troubled Benghazi.

Nasser al-Jihany, an official from Benghazi medical center, said on Wednesday that they received the body of Al-Hashemy Ahmed Muftah.

"The coroner will examine the body," Jihady added. "Authorities were notified about the incident."

Ongoing clashes between troops loyal to retired general Khalifa Haftar and the Shura Council of Benghazi Revolutionaries have left dozens of people dead and injured in a country that witnessed a revolution more than three years ago.
