Electricity Ministry on high alert ahead of Ramadan, exams, high temperatures

The Electricity Ministry has raised an alert at all its production, transmission and distribution companies ahead of Ramadan, school and university final exams and high temperatures.
 
In a statement on Monday, the ministry urged all the sectors to be on alert, including production and control stations. It also insisted that the heads of the stations be present to follow up on performance. Additionally, the statement highlighted the taking of all measures to provide fuel to the stations.
 
Heads of the stations were instructed to have systems that guarantee the efficient continuity of the stations' operations, as well as the handling of emergency cases that may occur.
 
The ministry also urged that maintenance be completed as scheduled, in addition to having technical teams available nationwide to handle any malfunctions.
 
Security measures were also among the issues highlighted by the ministry to secure the stations and equipments, alongside security services.
 
Minister Mohamed Shaker said the measures come within efforts to secure electricity for various uses. He also called on citizens to ration consumption.
