Four ancient burial chambers unearthed in Daqahlia

Polish archaeologists have unearthed four ancient tombs at Daqahlia governorate, north of Cairo, Antiquities Minister Mamdouh al-Damaty said on Monday.

The ancient monuments at Tal al-Farkha include three children's burial chambers as well as a fourth tomb, dating back to the age of Naqada III.

Excavations will continue at the site, the minister added.

Mahmoud Afifi, the director of the ministry’s antiquities sector, said the burial chambers were found in a poor condition.
