According to Ahmed Abdel Aal, head of Meteorological Agency, the heat wave is expected to continue until Tuesday, with a rise in humidity in most parts of the country.
Although high temperatures are natural in July and August, “what increases feeling the heat is the high humidity,” he said, adding that dense mist is expected early in the morning on most roads, especially near bodies of water, except in Mediterranean coastal cities.
Abdel Aal advised the citizens not to stay in direct sunlight for long periods of time, especially between noon and late afternoon, drink fluids as much as possible and avoid sitting in poorly ventilated indoor areas.
