Meteorologists are expecting a heatwave to strike Egypt on Saturday for 24 hours causing hot weather prevail nationwide.
 
Temperatures in Cairo are expected to reach a high of 39C, accompanied by hot winds, with a low of 22C.
 
Visibility will be reduced especially on desert roads due to winds accompanied by sand and dust, which will also disturb maritime navigation in the Mediterranean.
 
A significant decline in temperatures, between 6-7 degrees Celsius, is expected to prevail starting Sunday.
 
Citizens are advised to avoid direct exposure to sun for long periods of time, staying in places with poor ventilation and to drive carefully on desert roads.
