Heavy rain in Kafr Al-Sheikh, Damietta hinder fishing

Heavy rain fell on Kafr al-Sheikh governorate on Tuesday as authorities suspended fishing for safety reasons after the Mediterranean waves became high.

Rain was heavy in Riyad, Borollos, Sidi Salem and Motobas, which made drivers more cautious. Puddles accumulated on the main streets of the coastal cities hindering the movement of citizens, which made officials call order suction pumps to facilitate the passage of vehicles and pedestrians

In Baltim city, rainwater affected the celebration of the governorate’s national day, as water filled the areas allocated for the celebration.

Strong storms, accompanied by heavy rain, hit Damietta governorate throughout the night on Monday until Tuesday morning, which affected fishing at Manzala lake and the Mediterranean.

In related news, security troops intensified patrols on local roads and highways, fearing accidents and the escape of smugglers and drug dealers, who would take advantage of the bad weather to carry out their activities.
