Kerry to arrive in Cairo on Sunday

US Secretary of State John Kerry will arrive in Cairo on Sunday to meet President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, said informed sources from Cairo International Airport on Saturday.

The visit is the first for a senior US official after the Egyptian presidential elections.

The airport was notified by the embassy over the arrival of Kerry on a private plane at 10am on Sunday. He will leave after three hours upon meeting with Sisi.

Kerry is scheduled to review top Middle East issues including the Iraqi and Syrian issues as well as the situation in Libya, peace process and encountering of terrorism. He will also tackle the Egypt-US ties in the aftermath of the second requirement of the roadmap and readiness to the third phase, which is parliamentary elections.

The US administration earlier announced that Kerry will start next week a tour in the Middle East and Europe, during which he will meet with several foreign ministers and leaders.
