Libyan general Haftar: Egypt supports us with logistics

Libyan General Khalifa Haftar, who is leading the operation Dignity, clarified that Egypt has not provided him with weapons, planes or troops, but only with logistic materials like administrative issues and supply.

In his first interview after the assassination attempt, Haftar spoke with the Algerian Al-Shorouk newspaper. "I apply the agenda of the Libyan people only. I'm ready for what the people need," he said.

Haftar denied being provided with arms or planes from Egypt, "There might be arms supply, why not? However, the supply does not include planes or personnel."

Regarding similarities between him and President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and what he did during the 30 June revolution, Haftar said, "Sisi was a man in his country. He carried out his duty. We think that the Islamist groups that ruled have not done anything in favor of the people. Thus, being a a man of the military, he did his job, which was to side with the people."
