IS mints coins in Turkey

Security forces raided a location in the Sahinbey district of the Gaziantep province used by the Islamic State (IS) for minting coins in its name, according to the Turkish Anadolu news agency on Wednesday.

The agency quoted the local authorities as saying that molds for stamping the coins were seized, and that six suspects were arrested.

Ankara is charged with closing an eye to IS, which is bringing volunteers willing to join the group through Turkey.
