North Sinai roadside bomb kills 4 police conscripts: sources

Four police conscripts were killed and four others were wounded when a roadside bomb went off under their armored vehicle in Rafah, North Sinai, the latest in a series of bloody attacks against security forces in the restive Sinai Peninsula since 2013.

Medical and security sources said dead and wounded soldiers were carried to the central hospital in Rafah, which the vehicle was passing at the time of the blast.

Dozens of police and army personnel have been killed in attacks in Sinai since a popular uprising unseated former President Mohamed Morsi in 2013. Most of the attacks were claimed by the Islamic State’s Egypt affiliate, the Sinai Province.
