Official: IMF will take part in March summit

International Monetary Fund (IMF) will take part in the economic summit that will be held in Egypt in March, according to Christopher Jarvis IMF Counselor at Middle Eastern and Central Asian Department.

In press remarks, Jarvis said on Monday that the fund welcomes efforts made by Egyptian government to attract more investments and establish economic projects. He added that the IMF report on discussions over evaluation of economic and financial developments in Egypt will be published soon to offer a clear image on Egypt’s economic policies as well as available economic capabilities.

IMF earlier upgraded growth rate in Egypt to 0.3 percent in 2015 in a report in January.

The report attributed the raise to the improvement in Egyptian economy during the third quarter of 2014. Fiscal balance in Egypt is expected to go up by half point of the gross domestic product due to decline in international oil price by 55 percent since September.
