Millions of Muslims around the world welcomed the holy month of Ramadan on Wednesday. Ramadan unifies Muslims who live in different countries through such rituals as prayer, reading the holy Quran, and breaking fast outdoors with family.
The length of time spent fasting every day varies around the world. Muslims living in Europe will fast the longest. Indeed, Muslims in Denmark will fast for a maximum of 21 hours while Muslims in Argentina will fast for the shortest amount of time, or only nine and a half hours.
