Policeman kidnapped in South Sinai

On Friday, unknown gunmen kidnapped a policeman who was assigned with securing Feeran Valley post office.

The abduction came in response to a successful raid by South Sinai security department during which 15 tons of marijuana, stolen and vehicles were recovered in Sharm al-Sheikh.

Security sources said the suspect accused of kidnapping the policeman escaped during the events of the 25 January revolution. He has a criminal record of robbery and murder. Efforts are being made by security elements to release the abducted policeman.

Senior security sources said the policeman was not hurt, denying news over abduction of another policeman in Ras Sedr.
