Protesters close Mugamma for third day

Protesters in Tahrir kept the Mugamma closed for the third consecutive day, preventing employees and citizens from accessing the building, state-run news agency MENA reported.

People trying to access services plead with protesters to be let in, but the protesters held firm, saying that the closure was an "escalation" meant to pressure President Mohamed Morsy into implementing the goals of the revolution.

Tahrir itself remained calm on Tuesday morning after marches Monday marking the anniversary of former President Hosni Mubarak's resignation. Street vendors also returned to the square.
