Protests at Cabinet headquarters on Sunday

A number of Giza residents demonstrated on Sunday on Hussein Hegazy Street, next to the Cabinet headquarters, demanding the construction of more government-sponsored housing units.

According to one of the protesters, about 100 families from Kit Kat and Imbaba areas are in urgent need of housing, pointing out that it had been allocated to them already in 2013, but it was since occupied by others, witout any explanation.
He added that the displaced families had no choice but to continue submitting complaints to the Cabinet.

The protests were joined by the 2014 top students from different governorates, who demonstrated demanding government jobs.

They raised banners that read: "Sisi said: Giving you jobs is our duty," and "Mehleb, take your decision, the top students are waiting for you."

According to a protester, the most successful students have the right to be appointed to public positions, but the Cabinet ignores them. He added they had already filed complaints to the Cabinet and the Ministry of Investment in vain, pointing out that they are considering staging a sit-in in case they continue to be ignored.
