Referendum resumes for second day

The referendum on the constitution resumed on Wednesday for the second day in a row.

Voting started at 9am and will end at 9pm.

Medhat Edris, member of the High Elections Commission (HEC) general secretariat, said that ballot boxes will be sealed and left at the subcommittees until the referendum process is over.

HEC had said earlier that the total number of eligible voters is 52,742,139.

Dozens of international observers representing the European Union, African Union and US organizations are monitoring the vote.

Results are scheduled to be announced 72 hours after the voting ends.
