Report: Violent incidents increase in 15th week

The amount of violent incidents has increased in the 15th week of the year with 93 reported cases, compared to 78 cases in the 14th week, according to reports by the Parliamentary Elections' Observatory, affiliated to the Local- International joint mission to observe the Parliamentary elections.
 
The 14th report, which tackled the violent incidents between 3-9 April, indicated a decline in bombings and other incidents, while the 15th report, between 10-16 April, showed a marked increase.
 
According to the report, police and military personnel remained the primary target (33 accidents), and large gatherings were targeted on 22 occasions. Places of worship have been targeted in two cases, and facilities like railways, electricity pylons are also attacked in around 23 percent of the registered cases. The total number of accidents for the 14th week reached 78 cases, marking a 17 percent decline compared to the previous week. 
 
The highest number of violent incidents in the 14th week was registered in North Sinai, with 23 cases, the report said.
 
In the 15th week, security forces remained the primary target, with 34 registered accidents. Large gatherings were attacked on 34 occasions, while 16 incidents tageted electricity pylons.
 
North Sinai remained on top of the provinces with highest rates of violence with 23 registered cases.
