Sadat metro station closed ahead of Jan 25 anniversary

Police closed Sadat metro station on Sunday evening ahead of the fifth anniversary of the January 25 Revolution on Monday.

Metro Authority sources said in a press statement Sunday that the station would be shutdown until Tuesday and that the decision was made to secure the station for security purposes.

The security forces raised the state of alert and were deployed in vital squares nationwide.

Sadat station was reopened last June after a two-year closure over security concerns of protests.
