Sisi’s campaign files nomination papers to HEC

Mohamed Bahaa Abu Shoqqa, legal adviser of the electoral campaign of Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, headed on Monday to the High Elections Commission headquarters at Heliopolis to submit nomination papers of Sisi to presidential elections.
 
The papers included endorsements supporting Sisi for elections, his birth certificate, his educational certificate and a statement that proves he is Egyptian born to Egyptian parents and that he neither him, his parents or wife held other nationalities.
 
Law stipulates that candidate should get at least 25,000 endorsements from 15 governorates. Sources indicated that four vehicles were transferring the endorsements, which exceeded 300,000.
 
The papers also included Sisi’s criminal record, financial disclosure, medical report issued by Health Ministry’s general administration for specialized medical councils and statement showing he was never involved in any indecent crimes.
 
Among the papers was also a check proving LE20,000 were paid to the election commission for insurance, to be returned back after results are announced and deduction of fees for hanging and removing electoral posters and statement showing address to receive notifications from the commission.
