Sisi says will support national security sector against terrorism

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has said that the government will offer all of the support to the National Security sector to boost its capabilities against current challenges, at the top of which is terrorism.

During a visit to the sector on Sunday to review the security plans and efforts to secure the local front, Sisi acknowledged the general security situation, while stressing the necessity to realize the security, economic and political challenges that faces the country.

Sisi expressed his appreciation toward the efforts made by the sector, lauding the Interior Ministry for its role in the protection of Egypt and its citizens. He added that the strategy in place hinges on protecting the country from all political, security and economic aspects.

In related news, police and military troops in North Sinai liquidated a terrorist cell during a shootout in Al-Arish city.

Security sources said that the troops raided several abandoned houses after being informed that the cell was hiding there.

Fierce clashes occurred between the troops and the cell, leaving six terrorists killed, several others injured.
