Smuggled artifacts repatriated from Denmark

The Ministry of Antiquities has in coordination with the Foreign Ministry repatriated eight artifacts that were smuggled to Denmark in 2008.

A Danish court ordered the immediate return of the artifacts to Egypt without routine procedures.

The artifacts include woodworks that were stolen from the Ganem al-Bahlawan Mosque in al-Darb al-Ahmar district.

The Danish police seized the artifacts as they were sent in a package from the United States to Switzerland via Denmark.
