Suez court clears 11 Muslim Brothers of inciting violence

Faisal Criminal Court in Suez has cleared 11 suspects with links to the Muslim Brotherhood of charges of inciting violence.

The suspects, who were either affiliated to the Brotherhood or sympathized with it, had been sentenced to three years in prison in absentia. However, the court cleared them of the charges in a retrial on Saturday.

The incidents date back to 24 January 2014 when the suspects gathered — along with other Muslim Brotherhood supporters — around the Hamza bin abdul Muttaleb Mosque in Suez.

They were accused of obstructing justice, inciting violence, threatening public safety and blocking traffic.
