Tamarod to run in next parliamentary elections

Tamarod has announced that it is running in the next parliamentary elections contesting seats in all governorates “so that the revolution and the youth have access to all state institutions,” as it put it in a statement.

The statement said the candidates that would be fielded are "patriots who did not commit crimes."

The movement also announced that it would be in permanent session until the elections are held and that it is forming an operations room to manage the elections. The room will be comprised of Central Committee members, including Hassan Shahin, Mohamed Nabawy, Khaled al-Qady, May and Heba.

Central Committee members, however, would not run in the elections.

“We are running to meet the aspirations of the people,” said Shahin, confirming that the movement is committed to the roadmap.

He also said the movement would make sure that no specific faction will monopolize politics again.
