The period granted by the national committee on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam to the five international consulting offices to present their studies on the project ended on Saturday.
The technical tripartite committee is expected to meet during the second week of January following New Year and Christmas vacations in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum to select the best offers.
Sources said on Friday that the three capitals of Cairo, Addis Ababa and Khartoum will receive the offers simultaneously next week.
Delays in the submission and implementation of the technical offers are against Egypt’s best interests, the sources added.
In remarks on Friday, Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazy said that delays in submitting the offers were based on a request from the consulting offices in order to make the best offers.
