Three Brotherhood members acquitted, nine others imprisoned in Daqahliya violence case

The Dekernes Misdemeanor Court in Daqahliya on Wednesday acquitted three members of the Muslim Brotherhood accused of demonstrating without permission and of inciting violence.

The court sentenced three others in the same case to a year in prison and yet another six to two years.

It has also upheld a suspended one year imprisonment sentence for another member and fined him LE500.

Thousands of Brotherhood supporters were arrested and brought to trial, including Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie, on charges of murder, sabotage and espionage since the ouster of President Mohamed Morsy.
