TV host refuses to work in protest of delayed staff dues

Host of Dream 2’s talk show “10 O’Clock” Wael al-Ebrashy officially notified Dream 2 management he would suspend hosting the show in protest, said a source at the talk show.

Ebrashy left Cairo and headed to a European country, but will reportedly return on Friday. He did not appear on TV yesterday, nor will he appear today, the source mentioned.

The TV show host refused to appear on television in order to pressure the channel's management into paying "10 O'Clock" staff their delayed dues, according to the source.

Dream Channel's management had recently called for the decrease in staff salaries, which employees rejected, leading Ebrashy to give the channel a Friday deadline to pay the delayed dues.

The channel broadcast an old interview with businessman Hussein Salem on Tuesday after Ebrashy refused to appear on the program.
