Two soldiers injured in a fresh attack on Arish police

Two soldiers were wounded on Sunday in an attack on the Second Police Station and the Police Club in Arish, in North Sinai, two days after two consecutive days of calm which security sources had attributed to the arrest of the majority of terrorists in Sinai.

The Sinai Peninsula has been witnessing almost daily attacks on army and police facilities since the overthrow of Mohamed Morsy from the presidency in early July, with Islamist militants presumed responsible. As of 30 July, the deadly attacks have left at least 30 people dead, among them police, army soldiers, and civilians.

The wounded soldiers were taken to the city's military hospital.

A security source said one conscript was shot in the stomach and the other was shot in the shoulder.
