Venus and Jupiter are coming closer today in Cairo skies

Cairenes can enjoy a beautiful view tonight when the planets of Venus and Jupiter appear close together in the sky.

According to Ashraf Tadros, the president of the astronomy department at the National Institute for Astronomical Research, Cairo will witness on Tuesday evening a rare conjunction of the planets Venus and Jupiter in the most beautiful astronomical phenomena that will last until Wednesday.

“The distance between the two planets will be very close, reaching only 20 minutes of arc, which could be clearly visible with the naked eye,” Tadros said.

The phenomenon will be the closest conjunction of the two planets until August 2016 and the nearest approach in over a decade.
