Madi is not facing charges in other cases.

In the previous session, the court had renewed the detention of Helmy al-Gazzar, Abdel Moneim Abdel Maksoud and Mohamed al-Omda for 45 days pending investigation. They are charged with premeditated and attempted murder, practicing acts of bullying and intimidation of citizens and possession of weapons.

They are also accused of involvement in the killing of 23 civilians and the wounding of 220 others in the Bein al-Sarayat neighborhood.
