Al-Masry Al-Youm staff climb Saint Catherine to support tourism

As part of Al-Masry Al-Youm’s tourism promotion initiative, a 40-member team led by famed climber and adventurer Omar Samra climbed the Red Sea’s Saint Catherine mountain on Saturday.

The team, including journalists from the newspaper, spent six hours on their way to and up the mountain, posing for photos at its peak.

Omar Samra told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the trip was a type of adventure tourism, which he labelled as one of the most important forms of tourist activities that Egypt needs to give extra attention to: tapping into Sinai’s rich natural sceneries.
