Brazilian referred to trial in Egypt on drug trafficking charges

East Cairo Prosecution Office referred on Saturday a Brazilian woman to criminal court on charges of drug trafficking.

Customs authorities arrested the woman upon her arrival at Cairo International Airport in September after they suspected her luggage of containing illegal substances.

The woman was arriving on a flight from Ethiopia when she was apprehended at the airport’s Terminal 3 with 3 kilograms of cocaine in 89 ampoules concealed beneath her clothes.
