Egypt down 2 spots, Tunisia up 9 spots in FIFA world rankings

Egypt’s football team dropped two spots in the FIFA world ranking on April 12, down to 46th place.

Egypt lost two friendly matches in March against Portugal (1-2) and Greece (0-1) in Switzerland as part of World Cup preparations.

Meanwhile, Tunisia team jumped nine spots, climbing up to 14th place to the top of African and Arab rankings after defeating Costa Rica and Iran 1-0 in March.

Tunisia’s current ranking is the country’s highest in two decades highest after the team ranked 19th in 1998.

Tunisia is the highest ranked African nation in the FIFA world ranking, ahead of Senegal, Congo, Morocco, and Egypt.

Germany were ranked on top of the world rankings ahead of Brazil which sits second, while Belgium jumped two spots up to 3rd place.
