Egypt, Sudan to open Qastal port 30 April

The Minister of Transport Hany Dahy said that the trial operation of the port revealed the strong desire of the two countries in increasing the volume of trade and passengers exchange between the two countries, as the number of passengers amounted to about 77000 passengers and 2500 trucks until the first week of April.
 
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stressed the importance of cooperation with Africa and to create a commercial area of ​​Sudan and Ethiopia and to increase trade rates with COMESA countries, he told Al-Masry Al-Youm.
 
The governments of the two countries showed a strong desire to increase cooperation, and both ministries of international cooperation have set April 30 for the official opening of the port, Dahy mentioned.
 
The Transport Ministry is currently working on the largest land crossing with Sudan in Erqin area and it is scheduled to be ready in June so as to complete the planned development project with Sudan and Africa through the land crossing of Erqin and Qastal port, according to Dahy.
