Egypt vs. Portugal match review: Salah-Ronaldo go head-to-head at 9.45pm

A friendly match will take place between the Egyptian national football team and Portugal at 9:45 pm Cairo time, in preparation for the 2018 Russian World Cup.

Hector Cooper, coach of the Pharaohs, is expected to start the game with a formation including Essam al-Hadary as goalkeeper; Ahmed FatehyAli Gabr, Ahmed Hegazy and Mohamed Abdel Shafy in defense; Tarek Hamed, Mohamed al-Nenni, Abdallah al-Saeed, Mohamed Salah and Mahmoud Kahraba in midfield; and Marawan Mohsen as the sole striker.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz, President of the International Handball Federation Hassan Mostafa, and Chairman of the Egyptian Football Federation Hany Abu Raida will attend the match, held in Switzerland.

Egypt will play another friendly match during its camp in Switzerland against Greece.

Spanish newspapers were interested in the match between Portugal and Egypt on Friday morning, highlighting the head-to-head between Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah, and the great scoring potential for the pair, having scored a combined 73 goals so far this season in all competitions with their respective clubs.
