Former Egyptian national and al-Ahly club legend Mohamed Aboutrika hinted on Tuesday that he may return to Egypt. Aboutrika posted “Soon” and a flag of Egypt on his Twitter account.
Aboutrika’s Twitter received a big response from his followers and current players of Ahly club, such as Ahmed Magdy, Ahmed al-Sheikh and goalkeeper Ali Lotfy.
Former Ahly star and current al-Itfaq player Ahmed al-Shiekh described the prospect as “the best thing will happen in 2018.”
Ahly player Ahmed Magdy said, “Safely come back! Aboutrika is a well-respected player in Egypt.”
Meanwhile, Ahly’s goalkeeper said, “Egypt will be light, great man!”
The Court of Cassation recommended on Monday to accept an appeal submitted from Aboutrika’s lawyers to cancel the court verdict of Cairo Criminal Court which put Aboutrika on the terror list in January 2017.
