Four Port Said Customs Department officials referred to trial

Head of the Administrative Prosecution Authority, Rashida Fathalla, referred the head of the Port Said Customs Tariff Department, former head of the Procedures Department, and the Port Said Customs Tariff Department’s Officer along with the customs inspector for an emergency trial over squandering one million and twenty-six thousand pounds.

The Administrative Prosecution conducted an investigation into the violations of customs declaration No. 1397, dated 10/1/2010, revealing a waste of public funds up to one million and twenty-six thousand pounds.

According to investigations, the defendants manipulated official information of parcels of ready-made garments and shoes as well as TVs, which consequently led to the imposition of less customs tariffs on the owners of these commodities. The owners of the commodities had to pay one million and twenty-six thousand pounds in customs tariffs.
